Accommodation - Penneshaw Beach

It is with great sadness that we advise that our property Vivonne Bay Lodge was recently destroyed in the catastrophic bushfire event that occurred on Kangaroo Island on January 10.  We are deeply saddened by this, however grateful that our visitors and staff are all safe.  

Vivonne Bay Lodge will be rebuilt again; enabling our guests to once again enjoy the stunning location, wildlife and proximity to attractions. From 14th January 2020 onwards our tours will now be staying at the beautiful Penneshaw Beach.

We thank you for your understanding at this difficult time, and send our warmest thoughts to our fellow Kangaroo Island community.

Penneshaw Property & Location

Penneshaw is a pretty coastal village with spectacular views of the South Australian Mainland. After day one of your tour, you'll have a few hours of spare time to explore the area and check out these suggested activities:

Hog Bay Beach

No trip to Penneshaw is complete without a walk along the white sandy beach of Hog Bay. Freshen up after your day with a swim in the crystal clear waters.

Kangaroo Island Sculpture Trail

The newly opened sculpture trail is a great place to go for a short and easy walk. It's free and offers amazing scenic views. You'll find a swing bridge and great local artwork along the way.

Penneshaw Hotel

Get to know other travellers on your tour with a trip to the Penneshaw Hotel for a cool beverage. Their claim to fame is that they are the only pub in the world where you can sit and watch the coast of mainland Australia!

Penneshaw Penguin Centre

Wander over to the Penguin Centre in Penneshaw to find out about the colony of Little Penguins that live along the coastline.

The tour offers contemporary, comfortable accommodation in a stunning setting. Bathroom facilities are shared with en-suite facilities in each room.
